Hey APW,

Did I ever tell you the one about how Michael and I have two weddings back to back on a Friday and a Saturday this month, in two different states, for people I basically consider family? And I’m a bridesmaid in one? Hahahahaha it is a hilarious joke. So that’s what I’m gearing up for next week. On Wednesday night, we’re packing up the kiddo for his second cross-country flight (he did well last time, so knock on wood and pray for me that we can repeat that) and flying to New York, where I’ll be bridesmaiding in my college roommate’s wedding. Then we get up at the crack of dawn, fly to Maine, and do it all over again for my childhood BFF’s wedding the next day.

What could possibly go wrong?

And because I have so little control over the success of this mission (dear airlines, please be on time?), I have obviously directed all of my anxiety at… my outfit. (You’re shocked, I can tell.) For my bridesmaid duties, I picked up this sequined number on super sale (which is good, because it’s costing me an arm and a leg just to hem the damn thing), and I can’t decide if it’s appropriate to wear glitter shoes with a sequin dress? Or can I pull off mixed metals and wear these bad boys? Help me?

Then there’s the case of the childhood BFF’s wedding. The dress I want in my life would cost less if it were made out of hundred dollar bills. So I’ve just spent the last two weeks scrolling through ASOS and Rent the Runway trying to find something that comes close to being as cool. (I’m leaning toward this neon number or this red puff sleeve dress that reminds me of The Little Mermaid, but in a good way.) And then I’m like… will my partner kill me if I order just one more dress? Blerg.

Anyway, I got these earrings, and I at least feel very solid about that decision. In the meantime, does anyone have a magical source for kinda weird, preferably bedazzled, but also flattering dresses, ideally that go down to the knee and have a sleeve? I DON’T ASK FOR MUCH, Internet.

But I digress. It’s your happy hour, y’all, so get to it! (And maybe wish me luck?)

Cheers,

Maddie
