Hey APW,
This week has been a whirlwind. Last weekend Maddie and I were lucky enough to head up to the location where we’re hosting the first ever Compact Summer Camp, and attend an age-inclusive women’s weekend. It was such a treat to be completely out of cell phone range for a weekend (I used the payphone once, but everyone survived just fine without me). And we are now both that much more excited for The Compact and what’s going to happen around our very own campfire. Speaking of, we’re back up and running on The Compact’s Instagram again, complete with the hashtag #thecompactcampfire, if you want to share your stories, thoughts, and questions.
Meanwhile, back in civilization, we had our first design meeting of what is going to be a very special wedding dress collaboration with Lace & Liberty. Stay tuned, and we’ll get to give you the good details the week before Memorial Day, and we so very much want your input.
And finally, I got to be a guest on Episode 21 of the Pimp Your Brilliance podcast with Monique Malcom, so if you want to hear me talk about work, head on over to listen to that.
Jareesa is away this week, soaking up the sun in Greece, but she’ll be back next Friday with more links from around the web. For now, it’s your happy hour! Here is your open thread.
xo,
Meg
P.S.
If you want to go The Compact Camp it’s not too late! We’ve reserved two volunteer spaces for those of you who want to attend camp, but can’t afford the ticket price. If you’re willing to come and join our leadership team for the weekend, you can apply to come for free. What we need from you: an email to us with the subject Camp Volunteer describing why you want to come to camp, why you think you’d be a good fit for this volunteer position and either a resume or a list of with your applicable skills. You have until Sunday night to get your submission to us at team[at]apracticalwedding[dot]com!
