From Viviana, the stylist:
This wedding is not what you would expect for a destination wedding in Italy. The bride and groom are Canadian and Australian born, living in LA. They chose Florence, Italy as the backdrop of their fabulous wedding back in June.
Jacinte and Hal didn’t go for the very popular rustic countryside Italian bash, but opted for a much more unique setting in one of the most elegant and luxurious villas in Florence – Villa Cora. The hotel is exquisite and refined, with some quirky touches here and there to surprise its guests. Styling the wedding was an exercise in balancing the richness of the venue and grandeur of the Florentine’s surroundings, with romantic yet stylish touches while avoiding an overdone look.
A touching and lighthearted ceremony was held in the villa’s gardens and a reception set up in the grand mirror room. For the reception we went with a refreshing palette. Using blues, gold and yellows in varying shades, and pairing those hues with some classic styling choices mixed with more eclectic details. This pairing of antique/ornate and modern/cool continued in the stationery design, where a contemporary design for the invitation program and menu was juxtaposed with timeless handmade calligraphy elements for the escort cards, favor tags and table numbers. Every choice was a reflection of the bride and groom: stylish and classic, but in a unique way. The effect was romantic and cool – just like Jacinte in her Valentino!.
