In case you’ve never heard us say this before, practical and pretty are not mutually exclusive. And our newest APW photographer, San Francisco Bay Area’s Grier Cooper Photography, is the dreamiest example of that yet. For starters she was a real-deal professional ballet dancer (as in San Francisco Ballet, Miami City Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet, for all you fellow former dancers and fangirls out there), which informs her fairytale romantic style as well as her work ethic (because we all know ballet dancers work hard AF). As Grier told us:

Grier’s portfolio is filled with all kinds of Bay Area couples having all kinds of Bay Area weddings. (Though she has a soft spot in her heart for all things vintage, including the Bay Area’s plethora of historic venues, and has a whole host of them helpfully rounded up on her site: San Francisco City Hall, Berkeley City Club, the Julia Morgan Ballroom, Cameron Stanford House, The General’s Residence at Fort Mason, and the Palace of Fine Arts.)

And Grier Cooper Photography’s rates for one of the most expensive cities on earth are pretty damn good—especially when you consider that Grier has twenty years of experience as a photographer, which outside of weddings includes work in fashion and stills for a number of Hollywood productions. (Like Hemingway & Gellhorn, where she photographed Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen, and I mean, if Grier is fabulous enough for Nicole Kidman, then—well you know the rest.)

Grier Cooper Photography offers four collections which range from $2,500 to $4,950. Collection One includes 6 hours of photography and an online gallery for viewing your images, Collection Four includes 10 hours of photography, a 30-page 12″ x 12″ archival fine art album, and 20″ x 24″ wall art, with lots of options in between—and the option to customize your package with any combination of elements you prefer. Grier also offers special discounted rates for midweek ceremonies and elopements!

Grier firmly believes that great photos come out of a great relationship between photographer and subject, so all her packages include a complimentary engagement session. You’ll get to know each other, get comfortable in front of her camera, and get some great photos for save-the-dates, your wedding website, Instagram, you know. and all the fun stuff.
